I am
currently studying Economics and International Business in The Icesi
University, and I really love spending my time there. Actually, I am running an
online business called “Token Tecnología” which is mainly a mobile and mobile
accessories store, but online. If you want something about mobiles and those

During my stay
in Europe, I felt in love with Thai food, but I am not really confident eating
sea food. I don’t really worry about how I could get to a place (by bus, train,
plane…) and If I am not sure where I am going to sleep.
Travel to
me means enjoy the experience. I bought a pair of boots in London and those
boots became in my best travel partner.
This blog
could help all of you how to enjoy staying in Athens Greece wonderfully. I want
to give you some tips about prices, hostal, food and how to get to the landmarks,
even without paying or paying less for the local fee those places charge.
I got to Athens
Greece with a Turkey and a Colombian friends at 11 P.M . If you want to go from
the airport to Athens Center the best and cheapest way at that hour is taking a
Bus. We bought a a personal travel card for the public transport that included
underground, bus and overground transport during 3 days for €20 each one, that
was perfect and I am going to show you why it.
We were already booked
in Small Funny World hostal for €11 each night and it was B&B!! The trip
from the airport to Athens Center took about 1 hour and 30 minutes and the
Hostal was 5 minutes by foot from the bus stop. When we arrived at the hostal,
people there were very kind and the check-in was really fast. You will be in
the Center of the one of the most hystoricals cities!! , so be ready, and
prepare your boots! Every landmark and tourist places in Athens will be around
you from that place. You just need walk and walk.
Check this tip: In
Europe your best friend will be Google Maps, it’s really usefull and you can download
the area where you will be, before your trip, so you can search in it without
internet.
We knew that the
landmarks charge a fee for the entry, so first of all we went to Monastiraki
and Athens Market.
Everything there was really familiar to me, I felt like in
Colombia, the relax culture, people around were smiling to us, were kind and I
realise that the color of the day was like Colombia too! October in almost all
Europe is starting a real cold, and there was warm and sunny. I felt in heaven.
I saw a lot of curious stuff in the market, but there is a thing that I think
is the most curious: There were a lot of souvenirs and statues with male
genetalia on sell!! People in the market said us that, all of that stuff symbolizes
virility, strenght and courage.
In Monasteraki we get to a restaurant and I
said to the waiter that a would like actual Greek food, and they gave me a kind
of lasagna (of course with a Greek beer) and it was delicious!

After, we went to
Hadrian’s Library, and the entry costed €4 per person. But, when we were ready
to pay, a chick from Spain that we already met in the Hostal, told us about the
Oxi Day, which is a National Public Holiday and coincidentally it would be the next day (The
28th of October) and all the tourist places including the Akropolis would be
FREE!! We decided to change our plans, and we bought some greek beers and took an overground to the beautiful Glyfada Beach. The sunset there was magical.
In the next day,
we were prepared to wait a long time in queues, because of the holiday, so we
took some water bottles and we went at 8 to the Akropolis, that was relatively
close to us. We were surprised that in that hour we could get to Akropolis
entry easily and free of charge.
I can say you that there was one of the most magicals and wonderful places that I have been. Because of the history, all of the stories around it (I was a Knights of the Zodiac fan) and the feel that you can get there.
After that we went to The Temple of Olimpian Zeus, (walking too) . It is a perfect place where you can capture in photos the inmensity of that structure and besides you the wonderful Akropolis.
There is a Pub
Crawl too, where you can get to the best bars and pubs in Athens, and in one of
those they give you a happy hour and you can drink all you want for one hour,
so, all that plan just for €25, it is really cheap if you think in general. (Just
google Pub Crawl Athens and you could get different plans)
